Working on My Second Million

So far I haven’t mention sex scenes, which come in variations at the appropriate times between the pages. In truth, I prefer to call them love scenes for, (unless they're crimes) they’re usually attached to old-fashioned ideals such as emotional love, commitment and marriage.
In general, my heroines, although they’re not always virgins, are not promiscuous types either - only healthily human. My heroes are worthy, well-built and handsome rogues who are expert, long lasting lovers. How they got to be such experts is rarely revealed. I do like heroes to be wealthy, as well, but for a change I’ll sometimes settle for nobility and give the heroine the wealth. Reverse inequality works quite well as a source of conflict, I’ve found.
Talking of wealth, time to explode the myth that novelists must be filthy rich and raking it in. Writing novels hasn’t made me filthy, or rich, and my rake grows cobwebs in the shed. I’m working on it though. I can’t help thinking - if I’d earned a dollar for every word I’ve had published I’d now be working on my second million dollars . . .
